Elijah Our Hero

That's Elijah Our Hero, Our Godson and Nephew. 

 

Hi my name is Ross Jimenez, in honor of Elijah I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!

Elijah was two years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Since that time he has experienced things that little boys just shouldn't have to experience.

This includes many unpleasant but necessary medical procedures like spinal taps and bone marrow aspirations. The Chemotherapy caused him to lose his hair, he also experienced severe mood swings and weight gain due to the powerful drugs. Elijah is still receiving maintenance chemotherapy which will continue for another year and a half.

 

Elijah recently turned into an energetic four year old. He currently spends his days playing, swimming, riding his toy tractor, and spending time with Tata (Grandpa) just as a little boy should. He is our Hero and a childhood cancer survivor!

In the United States, childhood cancer kills more children than any other disease, more than AIDS, asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and congenital anomalies combined.
